Mitch Taylor (Gabriel Jarret) is a teen genius that has been sent to a private school for geniuses. He is paired with campus legend Chris Knight (Val Kilmer). Chris is probably the smartest guy there, but he would rather party. Chris takes Mitch under his wing. The two design a laser together as their school project. Their professor, Jerry Hathaway (William Atherton), decides to give the technology to the military and claim it as his own. When Chris finds out about it, he is livid to know his work will be turned into a weapon. He and Mitch set out to stop the military officials and Professor Hathaway, using their genius to do it.
