Trivia: The names of Sally Swanger's sons, "Acton" and "Ellis" are also the names that Anne and Emily Bronte used as pseudonyms to hide their genders when marketing their novels. They used "Acton Bell" and "Ellis Bell" and their sister Charlotte used the name "Currer Bell".
(more) Goofs: Errors in geography: An insert of a "crow" is shown, sitting on a fencepost. It's a grey-and-black Hooded Crow (Corvus corone corvix). This species is common in Eastern Europe where the film was shot, but unheard of in the southern US where the story is set.
