Notes
Trivia: In the scene where Lord Farquaad is in his bed watching the clip of Princess Fiona in the mirror, there is a painting on the wall behind him. It bears a striking resemblance to Botticelli's Birth of Venus painting, but with Farquaad in the center, standing on the shell where Venus would have been. (more)

Goofs: Continuity: When Donkey passes out (after the arrow incident) you see some dry leaves drifting up from the floor. However, in the next, wider shot there are no leaves to be seen. (more)

[Shrek is reading a book in the outside toilet]
Shrek: Once upon a time, there was a lovely princess. But she had an enchantment upon her of a fearful sort which could only be broken by love's first kiss. She was locked away in a castle guarded by a terrible fire-breathing dragon. Many brave knights had attempted to free her from this dreadful prison, but none prevailed. She waited in the dragon's keep, in the highest room of the tallest tower, for her true love, and true love's first kiss.
